Operating within Coronavirus Guidelines
Like all businesses we’ve had to make changes in unprecedented circumstances and in very uncertain times. Needless to say that all changes are with a view to everyone’s safety – and trying to correctly follow the guidelines. Applying ‘rules’ is something we hate to do. Your help and support for our small business is most appreciated (as it always was!)
We may have to amend things as the weeks pass, but initially the changes we have made are as below:
We will have to restrict the number of customers we can serve at one time – with a maximum being two. We reluctantly have to ask our customers to attend on their own rather than with friends, family groups or children.
Pre booked appointments
Following customer feedback we are implementing an appointment booking system for mornings. These are 30 minute appointments. The afternoons will remain as walk-in sessions based on a first come first served basis.
As we are restricted to serving two customers at a time, it may be necessary to wait outside our building or to return later if we are busy.
Social distancing provisions
We have changed the layout of the workshop to present a ‘counter’ arrangement which offers a safe distance between our staff, and you, the customer. This includes some appropriate screening and the restriction of previously open workshop areas. For the foreseeable, we will handle all frame chevron and mount samples to minimise any handling and cross contamination.
To minimise personal contact at the time of collection we are encouraging customers to ‘pay on order’ or prior to collection. This will allow an easier and swifter collection process. This will not be compulsory, but it will help us. Please see our Collections Page for more details.
Handover on Collection
We would like to hand over all finished work as wrapped. Please let us know if you particularly need to inspect the pieces whilst with us. We will offer a ‘car park collection’ where we’ll bring any finished pieces out to your car. Please pop your head in to our workshop when collecting to request this. Please see our Collections Page for more details.
We are providing hand sanitising gel for staff and customers and we would ask our customers to use this. We will also provide disposable gloves for everyone’s use. If appropriate we will adopt the use of face masks for us and our staff. We know that our customers will use common sense and assist us with any hygiene ‘best practises’.
And finally . . . thank you!
At the time of writing this page we have no real idea of what trade is going to be like in this ‘new world’. Most of the changes above we’d really prefer not to have made (we don’t like rules!), but we’re doing our best – and trying to stay in business! Thanks again for your understanding and support.
